Due to Covid-19 our plans have been cancelled.
More News soon.
XR Peace will be joining the next major Extinction Rebellion mobilisation, The Rolling Rebellion, in London. Rather than disruption in the streets, action will be focused on the government and government departments, institutions and corporations who are driving the climate and ecological crisis. XR Peace will organise actions at significant places like the MoD and the HQs of arms manufacturers.
We will gather in London on Sunday May 31st and be an active presence between 1st and 9th June. June 10th will be a day to debrief and make future plans. Please SAVE THE DATES.
REGISTER USING THE FORM BELOW if you are coming as an individual or as an Affinity Group so we can make plans together before we get to London.
Join an Affinity Group
If you are not in an Affinity Group and want to join one contact us and tell us where you live. We will put you in touch with an Affinity Group in your local area.
We have a venue booked for sleeping on the floor. We need more accommodation especially some beds that are not too far from central London. If you or anyone you know can help by putting up a peace rebel or two please contact us.
Our presence will raise awareness of how militarisation, wars, armed conflicts, arms sales, all impact the climate. They cause long term pollution and enable corporate exploitation of scarce resources, which dispossess peoples and leads to militarised borders to limit climate-induced migration, and massive suffering. The use or threat of military power backs up the political power and corporate self interest that is resisting telling the truth and making the changes needed to address the climate crisis. The undemocratic nature of those power structures must be challenged by climate and anti-militarist rebels working together with rebels from many other movements.
It will be possible to come along without risking arrest. If you stay on the pavement and move when the police say there should be no problem. A full legal briefing will be available soon.
Bring with you
Here is a list of things you may want to bring: food, water, cup, plate & spoon, mat, sleeping bag, spare clothes, rain gear, toiletries, oyster card, underground tube map, chain or lock on tube, fold up stool/chair, mobile phone. Bring any prescription medication in its original packaging with the pharmacists label on it.
……. but it all needs to be in one waterproof backpack that you can easily carry with your name & contact details in case you get parted from it.
